Max Lucado - Fearless (Thomas Nelson)

Max Lucado has done it again! I love his books and this is no exception! As the cover says, imagine your life without fear. This book is 180 pg plus a discussion guide with several lessons to help you better understand the book. To better help you understand different concepts, Lucado uses scripture to illustrate his point and he does so with several different translations to make it easier to understand. Every chapter starts with a Bible verse(s) that illustrate what the chapter is about. Each chapter is short and makes it easy to read a couple chapters here and there - the whole book is a quick read!

Why are you afraid, O ye of little faith? (Matthew 8:26) I enjoy this quote from the book - "It's not the absence of storms that sets us apart. It's whom we discover in the storm: an unstirred Christ".

Lucado has listed 8 worry stoppers: Pray first, Easy does it (slow down), Act on it, Compile a worry list (did they actually happen??), Evaluate your worry categories, Focus on today, Unleash a worry army, Let God be enough. These worry stoppers spell out what we should be instead of fearful - PEACEFUL! Jesus is the ultimate example of how to deal with fears. When he faced the cross, he was anxious. What did He do? He didn't run and hide...He prayed and asked if it were possible, remove this cup from me but not my will but thine. We should pray without ceasing!
